gibler Posted May 24, 2009 Report Share Posted May 24, 2009 My Win 7.6 (fully updated) backup server has mysteriously developed a painful (as in a 30 minute delay) when "Closing..." at the end of a client backup. I am not using compression, but I am using snapshots. Drive is 1.36 TB (148 GB free space) and RAM for server 2 GB. It seemed to me that once a certain amount of disk space the problem has occurred. i have tried defragmenting but no use.... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gibler Posted May 25, 2009 Author Report Share Posted May 25, 2009 Hmmm, and a 14 GB Catalog File as well. Process Explorer shows retrospect accessing and writing to the catalog file ... very slowly. I've just switched to a clean second backup set, with a different and fresh catalog file and the Closing issue appears not to be an issue.
