Changing to Larger B/U Hard Drive

Recommended Posts

My b/u drive is maxed out and I want to get a much larger HD for my retrospect b/u files. Rather than adding another drive, can I copy the retrospect files from the old drive to the new one and just have one drive rather than two? Will the software recognize the new drive as it did the old one if I assign it the same drive letter?

Thanks.

Ed

You don't say whether you have the Macintosh or Windows version, or what specific version you have.

In general, the answer is yes, you can. See the section of the User's Guide for "Moving Retrospect" (to a new computer). The steps are the same, except that you won't have to reinstall Retrospect on a new computer, just move the files as indicated and perform the steps indicated.

I would point you to the correct manual page except you haven't provided any information as to your Retrospect version or OS platform.
