franknal Posted May 2, 2009 Report Share Posted May 2, 2009 (edited) using hd 2.0 to b/u 2 vista systems to a backup partition on an iomega storcenter network drive. when first setup, full path was defined using server name in UNC. after a couple of days the backup was failing to find the drive, but retro could see the drive with full ip address instead of server name in SETUP with the servername UNC dimmed out but the IP one available?? switched to using ip address, still drive is not always "seen" by retro, even though the drive is mapped in my computer and can also be seen on the network pane. this is happening to both of my vista systems, failing to backup almost daily until the boxes are rebooted. i added the storage ip address to my etc/hosts file thinking this may fix whatever issues retro was having. didn't help at all. any other ideas i could try to fix this?
