chesley
Since Retrospect no longer supports my tape drive (USB Travan) under OS X, I'm attempting to back up to a fileshare instead. It appears to work (a large file is created at the destination), but when I try to access the backup, or when the incremental backup runs the next day, I get errors: most commonly, "unexpected end-of-file." The share is on a Windows machine (SMB). (I realize that the "normal" way to do this is to run Retrospect on the Windows machine and use a Mac client, but that would involve a major (expensive) upgrade on the Windows machine, as well as getting Dantz to take back the upgrade I already did on the Mac, so I'm trying to do it this way.)
