ishiiboy
I am using Retrospect Backup v 4.3 and a five pack of clients v4.2A. I have not had problems in the past, but we recently updated our systems and tried to reinstall a few of the clients. The installation went fine but the computer that has Backup on it can't find the clients on the network. When using the Chooser, I have no problem finding the other computers on the network. I can swap files between computers all day long. However, the Retrospect Backup software has a can't see the clients. Your tech notes say that version 4.2 and higher no longer need Activation codes. Guest
You most likely still have activator codes "lurking" on your clients from previous versions. To avoid this, uninstall the client software and reinstall a 4.2 (or 4.3) client from scratch. Then you should be able to log the clients in without a problem. ishiiboy
I tried to use the installer CD to uninstall, but there was no uninstall button. I tried to just remove all the files on my hard drive that had the word "retro" in their name, but to no avail. I still get the error.
AmyJ
Throw away the Retrospect Client Control Panel, reboot the comptuer and then run the installer to install a new client.
