grchap Posted December 4, 2008 Report Share Posted December 4, 2008 1) Does anyone have real world timings for transfer speeds in GB/hr for duplicating large backup sets from eSata to eSata drives? 2) I'm filling up about 500GB per week from 30 desktop and laptop clients and thinking about creating ten 80GB backup sets with 3 clients in each. I'll recycle the backups and do weekly duplicate scripts to the eSata drives and rotate offsite. I'll have a 4-port PCI-x (3Gb/s) card and three 1TB eSata drives attached to a Dell 2970 server w/one 2.3 Ghz quad proc with 4MB memory. I'm new to backup admin, so any comments on this plan? Thx.
