emulator
Hi, all... Is it possible to tell Retrospect to exclude Volume Shadow Copies (VSS) from backup? The reason I ask this is that many of our servers are using VSS as a secondary backup solution for users. We don't want to back this data up to Retrospect as it tends to be rather large (this is in essence a "backup of a backup"). I've been doing some research into where the VSS data is kept, and it appears to be in the "System Volume Information" at the root of each volume. I've tried excluding this from backup, but found that there is other information in that directory that shouldn't really be excluded from backups. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Dustin.Loftis
Is the size of your backup consistent with the size of the files themselves, or does it appear to include the additional data from VSS?
emulator
Hi... Regarding your question, the backup size grows quite a bit when the System Volume Information is included. When it is excluded, the backups are smaller.
