he_he
Does anyone know what the ideal cluster size a drive should be formated to in order to get the max performance from Retrospect? I'm thinking of the Disk Media, although during grooming there might be a preference for the OS drive cluster size too.
colin415
Old thread I know, but since it's the only one that popped up in my search for "cluster size" here goes! I've been researching this tonight because I'm partitioning some new and big volumes. Given I have >64TB of Retrospect disk files that are all ~650MB each I'm thinking I can live with the 64K of slack space per file The first time it even crossed my mind was when the partition size I was using exceeded 16TB and therefore 4K cluster size was too small. Since I don't intend to use the disk for anything other than Retrospect, 64K makes sense I believe.
