rhwalker
Where is your catalog for the backup yesterday? That's what Retrospect needs. Otherwise you will have to recreate (rebuild) the catalog from the backup (tape? disk? file? no info is provided) in order for Retrospect to know what its got in the backup. steamindemon
I can't find the catalog from the yesterday backup, the one touch Maxtor was used for the backup. There is a backup icon on my desktop. How to I restore that?
rhwalker
It's a little hard to tell from your description what that "backup icon" is on your desktop. Perhaps it's the catalog, perhaps it's an alias for the Retrospect program to make it easier for you to do the backup. It's a little unclear what you have done here. When you say you "Ran Power Mac G4 restore discs" does that mean you wiped the drive and did a clean OS restore? If so, that wiped the catalog and you will need to build a new one so that Retrospect knows what is in your backup (the various snapshots/files), so that it can figure out what to restore. Have you tried rebuilding (recreating) a catalog from your Maxtor backup? One way to do so is to get back to the window that shows you no snapshots/catalogs, clicking the "More" button, and choosing to rebuild a catalog. Is this what is happening? Does this point you in the right direction? Russ
