sum1
I have a Richo CDRW which I have been unsuccessful backing up to (using retrospect Express 4.3, due to Error 206 (Bad media, dirty heads)... Tech support suggested a bad SCSI cable/s. So I changed cables, changed the SCSI chain and termination and used every trick in the book, but still have the same problem, not to mention all the cd's I went through. However, Toast seems to handle the drive nicely without any errors. I finally purchased a LaCie Studio CDRW USB2 Drive hoping it solve my backup problem, as tech support mentioned that Retrospect Express supports drives using Toast extensions. I was in for A bigger disappointment finding that Lacie CDRW was not even recognized as a backup device. The devices window will only show the recorded cd's as locked but not recognize the inserted blank ones. Am I missing something? Please help. I am using an upgraded G3 with a USB card Running Mac Os 9.

AmyJ
The manufacturer of the hardware inside this drive is actually Philips, and it is not currently supported by Retrospect. Please keep an eye on our hardware search engine - we are continually adding new support for drives. www.dantz.com/hardware
