Gargiryle
How do I restore a single member of a back-up series? We use single batch to back-up all our files...it contains 30 members in the series. One of our members is not behaving properly, I suspect the tape went bad. It misreads often, claiming to be erased. Only after I lay hands on the tape drive and pray does it load. I want to dump this tape onto a network hard drive....then re-archive it onto a fresh tape...replacing the bad one. I can only find an option for restoring the entire series, not the individual member. Have any tips for me? Thanx...
Guest
Go to Configure > Backup Sets, select that set and mark all but the bad tape as missing from the members tab. You can then do a restore of all files from that set, and it will only ask for that member. After you've done the restore, mark all members found, and mark the bad tape as missing. Retrospect will try to add any files it finds that were on the "missing" tape to the set (ie all the files you've just restored from it).
