norval
Why does Express (4.3 &5) change my formatted external fireware hard disk from HFS+ to HFS standard on backups. As I understand it then the backup would not work when sent back to my HFS+ primary source.
Guest
You have most likely created a Removable Disk backup set. When backing up to an external drive, you should use a file backup set instead. This tutorial can guide you through the correct way of setting this up: http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=tutorial_osx_ibhd1 Irena Solomon Dantz Tech Support
norval
I have been down that path before and don't do it. I am backing up a MacOs9.2 HFS+ drive to a firewire hard drive. Thank you for the directions for the tutorial (much needed since it is confusing), but that is for MacOsX. Do you have one for 9.2?
Guest
Although the screenshots are for OS X, the functionality of the program is the same. Thus this tutorial can guide you through the process in OS 9, even though the screenshots may look a little different than what you are seeing.
