Matis
I just upgraded to Retrospect 5.0. I did not have this problem in the previous version. I am running 9.1 and have a computer than cannot go to MacOSX Whenever Retrospect asks for a new Zip Disk, it tries to erase it. Unfortunately, it cannot under file sharing. What I need to do is to stop file sharing, let Retrospect run and then enable file sharing. Dantz should fix the bug.
ZakB
When trying to erase the disk in the Finder, you are most likely getting a message that the disk is locked. When the disk is erased with the Macintosh OS and file sharing is enabled, it creates some invisible files on the disk that will prevent Retrospect from erasing the disk with an automated backup. File sharing prevents the Macintosh OS from erasing removable disks. If you turn off file sharing, write to the disk with Retrospect, and then turn file sharing back on, you should be able to continue with your backup. Matis
I found out this solution the hard way. I did not have this problem with the earlier version. I suggest that Retrospect give a correct error message.
