MplsLeslie
We are running Retrospect 4.3 on our Mac servers, which are running under 9.0.4. We have two servers set up identically - each one is connected to a five drive RAID and we have connected three external Maxtor drives off each RAID for additional storage. WHAT WORKS: If I want to back up an external drive on server A, I can run an Immediate Back Up through Retrospect and everything works great. WHAT DOESN'T WORK: Trying the exact same procedure on server B results in an immediate lock-up everytime. The only workaround I have found is to create a temporary folder to hold one-half to one-third of the files I'm trying to back-up and then direct Retrospect to do an immediate back-up of a sub-volume. This works. This is also a pain. Any ideas on why it might be locking/choking at the idea of backing up the entire drive?
Guest
If you restart with minimal extensions do you still see the lockup?
MplsLeslie
I'll give it a try when there aren't users on the network and let you know. Thanks for responding.
