pitond (OS X client) not running at startup, killed automatically

Recommended Posts

After installing Retrospect 5 server (on OS9) and clients (OS 9 and OS X) everytihng works OK, except I'm unable to get the OSX client to work (OS 9 is OK). After installing the client software (5.0.528) according to the instructions (from CD, as root user), the software is not on after restart, although the manual says it should be.

After opening the client app, I can manually turn it on (and appropriately the software says "Waiting for first access") - but after 10-12 seconds, it turns Off again on its own. During the time its on I can see the client from Retrospect Server, but obviously loose the connection soon.

I've seen this problem on two Macs (DP 1Ghz, powerbook titanium) running OX 10.2.3 or 10.2.4.

What am I doing wrong??
