backing up client

Recommended Posts

I run Retrospect 4.3 on a G4 with a DLT tape drive. I am backing up clients (G4's) running 4.3 as well. FIRST PROBLEM -- My scripts will run fine on all except one client. Retrospect gets to that client and starts, runs for awhile then quits and acts like it is done, but it hasn't completely backed up that machine. I change the order around of the machines to be backed up and it always works fine till it gets to that machine.

SECOND PROBLEM -- If I try to retrieve any old files, it does fine with just one but if theres multiple copies of same file it gets the first one then quits the same way as the first problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Please check the Operations Log (Reports > Log) for any information as to why the client is not getting backed up. Are there any error messages in the log?

Same for the restore - please check the log and look for any potential error messages.

This is error message in log for problem #1. Its a 50/50 chance on it backing up or giving this message.

Kind of a flip of the coin thing.

Check for media failure on the source volume. We recommend that you test the drive with the software used to format it (most format utilities have a non-destructive test). If the disk was formatted with Apple's Drive Setup, you can use Disk First Aid and Drive Setup's "Test" command.
