pamelaalford
Retrospect running on G5 Dual PowerPC Mac - working just fine, restoring files with no problem. Asked to restore again after just restoring over 40 files, asks for needed backup tape, tape inserted, Searching & Retrieval begins, and it hangs up completely while locating the first file asked to restore. No matter what I do, eject the tape, etc. nothing works, and it will not Pause or Stop. The little gear just spins and spins. I have to "force quit" to get out of the program, then when I return to Retrospect it no longer recognizes the device. The whole Mac has to shut down, the device unplugged, re-plugged, and system restarted in order for Retrospect to recognize the device again. What a pain! Any help at all would be much appreciated. I really need to restore these files! Note: have attempted different files in various backup sets - so it is not just this one AIT tape. You haven't provided any information about version of Retrospect, RDU (Retrospect Driver Update) version, tape hardware specifics and how connected, Mac OS version, etc. Need info.
