Retrospect running on G5 Dual PowerPC Mac - working just fine, restoring files with no problem. Asked to restore again after just restoring over 40 files, asks for needed backup tape, tape inserted, Searching & Retrieval begins, and it hangs up completely while locating the first file asked to restore. No matter what I do, eject the tape, etc. nothing works, and it will not Pause or Stop. The little gear just spins and spins. I have to "force quit" to get out of the program, then when I return to Retrospect it no longer recognizes the device. The whole Mac has to shut down, the device unplugged, re-plugged, and system restarted in order for Retrospect to recognize the device again.

What a pain! Any help at all would be much appreciated. I really need to restore these files!

Note: have attempted different files in various backup sets - so it is not just this one AIT tape.
