Retrospect progressive backup

Hi, I'm using retrospect to do progressive backups on a server, and as I understood it, it scanned for the files that had changed, then modified the backup on the tape.

 

I'm having the tapes fill up, so I'm presuming the progressive backup is just another name for a full/incremental backup schedule.

 

I was hoping to rotate backup sets weekly to have one offsite at all times. Any suggestions?
