behaviour of a volume when it has subvolumes defined

If I backup a remote backup client volume on a Linux machine, e.g. /home, presumably that backs up the entirety of home if I elect to backup that entire client.

If, however, I define a subvolume on /home - e.g. /home/someUser - when I backup that entire host, I presume only the subvolumes defined will get backed up? Or do I have to specifically say I want to backup the subvolumes, in order to get only the subvolumes backed up?

thanks,

lex

I've just noticed something which I think gives me an answer.

Now that I've defined subvolumes on a client, if I go back to the "Volumes" tab of the client definition, I can now deselect the whole shared '/home', for example, and just select the '/home/someUser' subvolume which is now listed beneath it!
