*.rdb & error 1017 - Need your HELP

Greetings,

I am a newbie to Retrospect and want to see if there is anything I can do to retrieve my one and only set of backed up files which do not appear to be retrievable.

Background:

Backed up via Retrospect the entire C: drive on my Windows 2000 machine to the WD drive

Re-installed Windows XP on same machine

Thought I could restore files via Retrospect but it cannot locate a backup fileset. The only files that are present are the catalog files (*.rdb).

When I try to restore I get an error 1017 Insufficient Permissions. No backup set of files seem to exist and yet I know that they used to exist on the drive.

This is a fairly desperate plea for *HELP* ... anyone have any suggestions or tips/kludges for retrieving my files?
