Configuration Problem with DVD Drive HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-H20L

Just got a new HP Vista machine with DVD drive HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-H20L. I try to run configuration on the drive and it just hangs. Here is the log.

Configuration ejects the disc and then pulls it back in but the message says pless reinsert disc. As you can see from the log, I wated 18 minutes before I stopped it. Any ideas
