andyeb Posted July 7, 2007 Report Share Posted July 7, 2007 I'm unable to configure my upgraded DVD drive in my MacBook Pro in Retrospect (an LG GWA4080 - I understand this is the same drive shipped in newer MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo machines). The previous drive (Matsushita UJ-587) worked some of the time, but was becoming increasingly picky about the media it would write to, both inside and outside of Retrospect. I have tried several different types of media, but Retrospect becomes unresponsive (according to Activity Monitor) while doing the manual configuration process, or eventually tells me that the drive/media combination cannot be configured.
