DGMaximus
My company recently had a need to move from Mac to Pc for one of our systems. I would like to be able to access the old backup sets from 5.1 on a pc 5.1 version of retrospect. When i try this it says that it cant access the files or they are corrupted. Any suggestions or am I out of luck? Thanks for any help.
rhwalker
You are out of luck. The file format for the Windows version of Retrospect is incompatible with the Mac version. Retrospect Windows and Macintosh backup formats are incompatible However, you could install the Retrospect Windows client on the PC and use Retrospect Mac to retrieve the files and put/restore them to the PC. Mac OS 10.4.x requires Retrospect 6.1, which should be able to read your Macintosh Retrospect 5.1 backup sets. Russ

There is a free 30 day trail version available. And note it says READ as you can't add more backups to the old 5.1 backup set(s) in later versions.
