Express HD incorrectly reporting Disc Full

The app keeps reporting "disk full" when I have 435 gigs remaining and trying to back up a small 100 gig drive. I can not seem to get it to work when it had been working initially. This is happening after I coincidentally reinstalled the entire operating system. It had this problem on the old OS, and it has this problem on the new OS.

 

I guess I should return this product to the store?
