Set-up button does nothing

I've correctly loaded the Retrospect Express HD software for my Maxtor One Touch 300 gb hard drive.

When I open it, I get the following message under a red Maxtor banner:

 

"Welcome to Retrospect Express HD for the Maxtor OneTouch "

"Updating status..."

"0 restore points available"

 

At the bottom of the screen is a highlighted <Setup> button, and a dimmed <Restore> button.

I press the setup button, but nothing ever happens. I let it run all last night, after pressing the button several times. How can I get beyond this to actually start using the software?
