geohei Posted June 15, 2007 Report Share Posted June 15, 2007 Hi. I use Retrospect together with 2 streamers. HP C7438A DAT72 and HP C1537A DDS3. Recently, I inserted 2 brand new DDS3 tapes (HP C5708A) into the drives, but they were not "recognized" (= both streamers ejected tapes after 2-3 minutes of wild mechanical positioning, the other tape stayed in, but Retrospect showed "Content unrecognized"). Never had this before! What is wrong with the tapes? Is there some kind of tape formating which might be lost (and possibly requiring re-formatting)?
