I have v7.5.387 installed on Vista x64 Ultimate.

I am getting errors with Open file backups. In the Retrospect log I get this:

Can't use Open File Backup option for Outlook on Personal (E:), error -1017 (insufficient permissions)

I notice the comment about Insufficient Permissions, but I am running this interactively while logged on with Administrator priviledges.

In the Windows Event Log (Application) I get two errors, firstly:

Quote:

Volume Shadow Copy Service error: The VSS Coordinator class is not registered. This may be caused due to a setup failure or as a result of an application's installer or uninstaller.

Operation:

Instantiating VSS server

Followed by:

Quote:

Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x80040154.

Operation:

Instantiating VSS server

Any ideas what the problem might be?

thanks in advance.
