draught
Hi, I´m trying to set up backup strategy for just one workstation. Has anybody some suggestions for me? I thought to start with a full backup saved to an external hdd an also on dvd. The next step is to save the changes to full backup every day (mon-thu) on cd-rw. an on friday i want to save the changes made during the week to dvd. Makes this strategy sense or is it crap? Maybe anybody can help me setting up this strategy?
VegasMac
Personally Here's what I do. Every Day: Full Backup to Dual Layer DVD (Because Dual Layer DVD means using less media and it'll take longer to reach a point of needing a recycle backup set). Also Every Day: Back up to an external HD. Once per Week: Back up to another Weekly Dual Layer DVD Set. Once Per Month: Yet another Dual Layer DVD Set, and then I take my Weekly's off site after this Monthly set is burned. It's a ton of redundancy, but it'll keep my data save no matter what. Admittedly, it's over kill for the average user. Most users may want to just back up to HD daily, and a DVD Set Weekly. My 2 Cents...and maybe a little more.
