shoked
What does one do when a catalog/backup file gets too big for the volume it's stored on? Can you go in and remove snapshots of data somehow or is the only way to fix this by starting over with 0 data and a new backup? Cheers.
twickland
If you're talking about a file backup set, your primary solutions are either to recycle the backup set and use the same volume, or (if you have another volume available), do a New Media backup set to the new volume. I haven't tried this myself, but I'd expect it should also be possible to copy both the data and .cat files to a larger volume, point Retrospect to the new destination, and keep going. If you're talking about just the catalog portion of a removable disk, tape, DVD, etc. backup set, you could definitely copy the catalog to a larger volume. No matter what type of backup set, though you can't delete parts of the backup data; it's all or nothing.

Yep; works fine. Dave
