henrybowman
I decided to change my backup from a (slow) tape drive to a faster local file server (PC) using an internet backup set. I installed an FTP server on the file server and set up the appropriate permissions. The creation of the backup set went fine. But when I tried to run the actual backup script, I got: Catalog out of sync with backup set “banana”. Use Tools>Repair>Update Existing from the Directory window. (Note this a brand-new, empty backup set.) Following those instructions didn't help: Executing Recatalog at 2/24/2002 9:14 PM To backup set banana… Trouble reading: “banana” (1), error 235 (FTP: server refused request). I tried several times, deleted the backup set, wiped out the corresponding files on the server and the catalog on the local machine, started from scratch again, and got the same result. It appears that Retrospect is creating the directory "banana," and then two files under it called "0-data" and "ReadMe.txt". The error apparently occurs because Retrospect tries to "RETR 1-data" and there is no such file. Unfortunately, my only manual is a 4.0, and it doesn't discuss internet backup sets at all. henrybowman
This posting has been sitting here for a week and a half. 15 people have looked at it, zero people have responded to it. I thought this was where you came to get Dantz corporate support. Is it just a customer chat room?
