pierce
The current version of Ofoto 3 (http://www.ofoto.com) installs rundll32.exe to start at boot time. As long as rundll32.exe is running, Retrospect Express 5.6 freezes at the splash screen on startup. A hard reset is necessary to reboot the machine. The freeze occurs even if no USB devices are attached. This probably has something to do with Ofoto automatically sensing a USB camera and interfering with Retrospect scanning for devices. Ending rundll32.exe or removing Ofoto fixes the problem. Earlier versions of Ofoto 3 did not interfere with Retrospect Express.
AmyJ
Does the problem go away if you run the Ofoto Set-Up utility, and de-select the options to Run OfotoNow when I link a USB Camera and Continuously scan for card readers If so, you may need to disable one or both of these options. pierce
I reinstalled Ofoto 3 with the "do nothing" option selected in the Advanced tab of the Preferences menu, which disables both "automatically copy photos to my computer" and "scan for card readers." Retrospect runs fine now. Thanks for the suggestion.
