noborg
Hi, I backup several Windows clients, many of which have common (identical) programs installed (e.g., Acrobat, MS Office, etc.). If "match only same location" is unchecked (the default), my understanding is that identical files in different locations will not be backed up more than once. For example, winword.exe will not be backed up from client B if it has already been backed up from Client A (whether or not it has the same location on each client). First, is this understanding correct? Second, if I later need to restore client B, will the common files (e.g., winword.exe) be restored correctly to their location on client B, or do I have to remember that I have such files backed up via Client A and then have to manually restore or re-install? js
Guest
I didn't see another answer, but my understanding for the first part matches yours. As for restoring I got the distinct impression the software would pull the files it needed automatically, calculating things ahead of time and doing it on one pass. - Steve Yates - The UARTs won't take this speed, Captain. / Taglines by Taglinator 2.5 - www.srtware.com /
