buono
Hi, After 8 months with Dantz lying dormant in my office, I am trying again to install it on a Win 2K system. I am the only user, the PC is not networked (apart from a cable modem connection). I get the error 1920 when Install comes to start services. My account logs in automatically and has full privileges. Will I ever get Dantz to install? Please help if you can.
AmyJ
Try creating a new user account, with full administrative privileges, and install Retrospect while logged in as that user. Do you see the same error, or does installation proceed normally?
buono
Exactly the same result.
AmyJ
According to the Microsoft website, Error 1920 is: ------- Error 1920: Service failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. ------- Retrospect is subject to the permissions allowed by the Operating System. If you are getting insufficient permissions errors when installing under multiple user accounts with full Adminstrative permissions, this could indicate possible corruption in the Operating System. buono
By the way, I fixed this. Express would not let me install on my D drive, which I use for Programs. When I installed on my C drive (which I keep for Windows only), it worked OK.
