bobbyc
I have a Windows 98 pc that after each nights backup the mouse will pause every few seconds until you restart. I have several machines that are configured the same with no mouse problem. Has anyone ever seen this problem?
AmyJ
I don't believe I've seen this issue. I'd probably start with updating/reinstalling the mouse drivers/software. Are the backup device and the mouse the same interface? For example, both USB? Both on the same hub? Try separating them if so (and if possible). bobbyc
No, the client PC is being backed up over the LAN and the mouse is attached locally. Is there a way to automatically have the backup client restart the pc after a backup is run?
AmyJ
No, it's not possible for Retrospect to reboot a computer after backup. I would still recommend looking into the mouse drivers for the client machine. You should also disable all background processes (Ctrl-Alt-Delete) and quit any running programs at night before the backup to see if there is some type of third-party conflict. Anti-virus software or any kind of monitoring utilities are the most common culprits.
bobbyc
I have tried new mouse drivers and reloading the AntiVirus software. The machine does not load anything additional on startup. I have a number of machines configured exactly the same, yet this is the only one with problems. I am at the point were my next step may be reloading the machine from scratch. Oh, what fun!
