250LWB
I am trying to install Restrospect Server 5.6 on a Windows 2000 Server (SP3) that we're migrating our NT things to. When I attempt to run the install the installer looks good until it starts to install files (or so it appears). After 20-30 seconds the installer stops and give me a message about being interrupted, it's stopping and no files were changed. I've stopped just about every service and operation running in background to see if there's something that's disturbing it but to no avail. I need to move this over to the new server. Now. I would be most grateful to any suggestions as to how I can get this running. AmyJ
First launch regedit, do a search for 'retro' and 'dantz' and delete any keys found. Reboot and try the installer again. Can you use the installer on another computer? Or does it only fail on this computer?
250LWB
Thanks for the suggestion, Amy. I was thinking processes rather than a registry issue, since the error said the installation had been interrupted. I'll run Regedit on it Monday and see what happens then. I'll report back what I find. Dan Penoff Technology Resource Hillsborough County School District
