connect through cisco vpn

Recommended Posts

I have a backup server running on an internal net. I'd like to be able to have my laptop vpn in and be backed up by the server as a client. Trouble is, they don't seem to be able to see each other. I've tried locating the client from the server using the clients static ip address, but it still complains that the client cannot be seen.

My laptop is connecting to the vpn using Windows XP's standard PPTP vpn connection software. It's connecting to a cisco vpn concentrator. Has anybody had any luck connecting to clients in a configuration similar to this?
