skilbourne
We're having a problem on migrating our backup to a new backup/applications server (Win2k). When trying to back up our file server (different box, running the client) we get the following error: + Retrospect version 5.6.127 Launched at 11/25/2002 11:20 AM + Retrospect Driver Update, version 3.1.103 Error: Scanning incomplete, error -519 (network communication failed) soctWindDestroy: DestroyWindow() failed with error 1400 Quit at 11/25/2002 11:34 AM and Retrospect times out and the backup fails. The problem seems intermittent and has kept us from going into production with the new servers. Any insights? added later: new servers, new switch, new cables, no entries in the client event logs, client not hung up, new servers not in production yet so network VERY quiet, no disk problems seen anywhere else. Test recently done: Empty volume scanned and backed up correctly Add two empy folders, still scans and backs up OK Add two more folders, scan locks up and -519 Client shows no errors -Scott
AmyJ
Is the problem only happening on one client or multiple clients? If one client, try backing up other clients - same problem? If multiple clients, try a different backup computer as a test to help isolate the cause the issue.
