fricciardi
We recently changed the IP's on our server running 5.x client and now we can't connect to it. We uninstalled/reinstalled the Retro client, and we still can't connect. When we try to connect to port 497 using telnet or other software we can't. Port 497 doesn't even respond from localhost. What gives?
AmyJ
Port 497 is the port that Retrospect uses, however, Retrospect has no control over whether or not the port is actually open. If Port 497 is not listening, you'll need to configure your software or hardware to allow access. In most cases, this is caused by a firewall. You may also want to try updating your NIC drivers and reinstall your TCP/IP protocol.
