backup scripts

I have 4 client scripts I'm backing up onto one tape. The first client I marked as recycled, the other three as normal. I backup every day Mon-Fri. At the end of the month(every 4 weeks) I want to do a new media backup on Fri. Will the new media b/u know to continue with the recycle, normal setup and b/u all 4 clients or will I only get the first client listed?

 

Or am I on the wrong track altogether?? Thanks!

If you add a New Media backup schedule to the script currently running recycle backups, the New Media backup will have priority. The key is to use the same script and schedule the New Media backup at the _same_ time that the Recycle backup normally runs.

 

 

 

For example, if your script says:

 

Every Friday, recycle Backup Set A at 10 pm

 

 

 

you can add to your existing script with a Repeating Interval schedule:

 

Every last Friday, New Media to Backup Set A at 10pm

 

 

 

_or_

 

 

 

you can add to your existing script with a Day of the Week schedule:

 

Every 4 weeks on Friday, New Media to Backup Set A at 10pm
