avu3
I have server version 5.6.132 running on Windows 2000. I'm backing up remote clients in our office and local data to a secondary drive (we run tape also, but I am not having a problem with that) My problem is, I want to replace the contents of my backup set each night. Instead what it is doing is saving a new copy of the changed file - these are databases and change every day. Is there any way I can do that, instead of having to delete the file every few days and create a new one? Sorry if I don't have all the terminology right, I'm somewhat new to the retrospect backup software. I like the fact that these forums exist and applaud Dantz for putting them up. AmyJ
The option you want is called a Recycle backup, which will erase the entire contents of your backup set and start over from scratch. Your script schedule can be edited so that the action is a Recycle, rather then a Normal (incremental) backup.
