My Retrospect doesn't recognize my Maxtor external hard drive, but I can see it on the desktop and can back up files by dragging directly to the Maxtor. It should be compatible since Retrospect is the application that came with the Maxtor. I'm using Retroscpect 5.0 Mac OSX 10.3.3 Dual 2GHz Power PC G5 2GB DDR SDRAM Thanks!
