MrPotter
When trying to custom configure my Sony DVD RW DW-Q28A using Retrospect 6.1.126 (Driver 6.1.7.101) it hangs up. My mac can see the blank DVD-r media in the drive but Retrospect stops at "Checking writing method..." I've let it "check" for several hours but will always have to force quit. Everything works find on my external DVD device and my internal Sony device does read burned DVD media but will not burn or back up. Any suggestions? CallMeDave
The Retrospect device database lists this drive as Qualified, so you should not need to run the user configuration tool. - What is displayed in the Configure->Devices->Device Status window? rhwalker
Because the drive is qualified, you probably want to remove any custom configuration file that has been generated by your custom configure attempt so that the standard driver is used. MrPotter
Is the "custom configuration" found in Library/Preferences/Retrospect folder titled: Retro.Config (6.0)?
