siriusblack
Hello All, I am helping my college teacher with her back-up hard drive. she used retrospect (5 probably) to compress her computer drive. so i am looking at a 100 GB "File Backup Set Data". She would like me to allow her to make that file readable, so she can find a couple of important documents that she can extract back to her iMac. Cheers All. sirius
twickland
Obviously, you'll need a copy of the Retrospect app. The current version will be able to read the earlier backup file. Then go to Immediate> Restore> Search for files and folders. When the backup set selection window appears, click on More...> Open and navigate to the location of the file backup set. If the file backup set is greyed out and no catalog file is visible, click "Cancel" and go to More...> Rebuild to recreate the catalog file. Once you've done this, you'll be able to select the file versions she wishes to restore.
