gartmann Posted April 28, 2006 Report Share Posted April 28, 2006 I tried to restore a broken Panther disk that had previously been backuped with Retrospect. I booted from a separate disk. This disk contained a Retrospect client. Then I did the restore from the backup server to a new disk. Now when I try to boot from this disk I get the following error: load of /sbin/mach_init, errno 2, trying /etc/mach_init load of /etc/mach_init failed, errno 2 What is missing here? gartmann Posted May 4, 2006 Author Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 Now I found the reason for the problem: the backup as such was incomplete, hence the restore couldn't work. The annoying thing about this is that I got a success message on my Mac about the backup but the log at the backup server reported an error -519.
