This error is thrown when MacOS Retrospect tries to access a Windows XP client. Some threads had success by removing and reinstalling Retrospect Client on the XP machine. However, there's an easier solution: In the Retrospect Clients dialog, go to 'Network', find the offending WinXP client, and click 'Forget...'.
