Norm Posted February 18, 2006 Report Share Posted February 18, 2006 I've noticed that the "closing" time after a Duplicate seems to be very long. The last Duplicate was only about 14 MB. The closing time at the end of the duplication was about 6-8 minutes. Is this normal? Thank you. FWIW: Client 6.0.109 and Retrospect 6.1.126 backing up to an external FW drive. rhwalker Posted February 18, 2006 Report Share Posted February 18, 2006 The closing time is when the catalog is being updated/created/compressed. Lots of stuff is happening. The amount of files added, and whether you have a compressed catalog, can increase the times. Wait until you get into the several hundred Gigabyte range per backup of a bunch of networked computers with compressed catalog; you will wish for 6-8 minutes.
