Orchard Post
Does anyone know what "All Files Except Cached Files" actually does in the script menu? Cheers Martin
DavidHertzberg
From page 171 of the Retrospect Mac 14 User's Guide (I don't trust the Mac 15 version; the august Documentation Committee has messed it up): "All Files Except Cache Files marks all files on the source, except cache files used by certain applications, such as web browsers. These cache files, which are numerous and often large, are not typically useful for restoring." If you want to know more, the lead of this Wikipedia article is your friend. FYI, I use All Files as my Rule because I'm superstitious. Up until about a year ago, I used to Sleep my MacBook Pro instead of shutting it down. My daily No Media Action backups used to include the "sleepimage" file, which is upwards of 1GB. The other day, for no apparent reason, Retrospect decided to back it up again; it's still upwards of 1GB.
