cwg25 Posted August 19, 2004 Report Share Posted August 19, 2004 Hello all. I am pretty much new to all of this and need to come up with a way to backup our data. We have a MAC O/S X, Xserve system. We need to back up 2 drives. The Server HD needs an 80 gig RAID mirror drive, and our Shared HD needs a 250 gig RAID mirror drive for backups. I am currently looking into getting ATA/100 drives, maybe the Hitachi Deskstar GXP. Will these drives work with the external FireWire boxes we have? Can Restrospect backup the actual Server data on an Active system as well as the O/S? Can anybody give me any hints, tips, pointers, suggestions, comments, or anything about doing this whole backup setup? I'd really appreciate it.
