ptoob Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Can anyone tell me how to make a bootable backup to an ext. F/W drive? Used Retrospect to Duplicate int. Powerbook HD to ext. HD, but when I try to boot from ext. HD it hangs (with circular clock rotating). Used Retrospect 6.0.178 to Duplicate using “replace corresponding files” settings on 12” Powerbook running 10.3.4. Using default Retrospect Selector omitting cache files, plus I omitted trash. Any suggestions about how to make this ext. F/W backup bootable? Thanks very much! Paul
CallMeDave Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 - Use Retrospect 6.0.193. - Do the Duplicate to a freshly erased Destination. - And don't omit anything. Other users have good results with Carbon Copy Cloner for this sort of thing.
