hampton
I'm having problems backing up my wife's computer. I've been successfully backing up her system for six months to a year using Retrospect 4.x. Here's the old setup: Client: Mac Powerbook G4, Mac OS 9.1 Server: Mac G4, Mac OS 9.2 Network: Asante Friendlynet Switch The two machines are in adjacent rooms and are connected via the switch. I recently upgraded my machine to Mac OS 10.1.4, so I was forced to upgrade Retrospect to version 5.0.201 and the client to version 5.0.198. These are the only changes since the last sucessful backup. Now, when I try to backup my wife's powerbook, retrospect sucessfully connects to her machine, scans the hard disk building its list of files, folders, icons, priviledges, etc., and then tries to start transferring data. I immediately get a 519 error, and retrospect eventually fails without transferring a single file. David
hampton
The problem turned out to be the invisible "NAV 7.0 Quickscan" file. When I deleted this file the backup ran flawlessly. David
